The Children’s Village is the main pillar and a kind of anchor for the Window of Life organization in Masindi. Thanks to our constant presence, we have earned the trust of local entities and established a solid, trust-based, and responsible partnership. We are a regular member of local bodies, and through our early-stage interventions, we are able to ensure the long-term well-being of at-risk children and youth, both in crisis situations and preventively.
The children typically come to us for one of three reasons:
- They have been abandoned by their parents, and the police and local youth office are unable to locate other family members.
- Their mothers are in prison or awaiting trial in custody.
- They have been physically and/or mentally abused by their parents or guardians.
Since the Window of Life Babies Home is strongly oriented towards integration, it also provides a place for children and youth with physical and/or mental disabilities.
