I arrived in Masindi in 2020 and spent two months there. It was my first time in Africa, and I had no idea what to expect 🙂 I have spent the entire time at Home – sleeping and eating together with everyone, which allowed me to take part in all the daily household chores.
Every day, I walked the children to school, washed dishes, folded laundry, and helped in the kitchen. And all of that with the help of the kids 🙂 But my absolute favorite activity was reading books to them – and they loved it too!
I could go on and on, including why I would love to go back, but to put it simply: Children’s Village is a wonderful place, full of love and friendship, where you will create countless unforgettable memories – both for yourself and for the children!
And lastly: chapati! You absolutely have to try it and fall in love – it’s delicious!
