In September 2011 a dream of helping the most vulnerable children became reality. MariaNdibwagana, her husband Joseph Tibaganda and their Polish friend Marta Majewska rented a housein Masindi town and founded the Window of Life Babies Home.
Now, 5 years later, we are standing firm; capable and motivated staff, good quality child care, a solidfinancial and support base and plenty of ideas and initiative for the future.
In July and August 2016, it was our time in Window of Life. It fulfilled our desire to go volunteering in Africa- to a specific place and specific people. Uganda. Babies Home. Window of Life. We wanted to leave a bit of ourselves for the children and take a bit of them for ourselves. And it happened. Children gained our hearts and we will never forget about them. Their smiles, tears, successes, and failures will stay with us forever. Window of Life wasn't just an adventure of our lives; it became a part of our lives.
In April Marta went to Uganda together with her Mum, Dana. Although it took her a couple of years to convince her mother to visit the Babies Home and the country where “Marta's children” live, finally they reached this moment.
Nice suprise in the Babies Home: whole house, including the guest house, is now connected to the solar panel system! During those numerous nights when the city power is just not there, we can now enjoy the light and carry on with our daily routine.
