I came to Masindi in 2020 and spent 2 months there (July-August). It was my first time in Africa and I had no idea what to expect :) I stayed at Children's Village, slept there and ate with everyone. It was a wonderful experience that taught me quite a few lessons :) I loved that I could be involved with all duties including walking kids to school and back home, washing dishes, folding laundry and helping in the kitchen. My favourite thing though was reading with children and I can definitely say it was their favourite too!
I could be writing on and on forever about these two months and why I'd love to come back but long story short: Children's Village is an amazing place where you can experience lots of love and kindness and make tons of unforgettable memories. Both for yourself and children. Oh, and chapati! You have to try and fall in love - sooo yummy!
